Since the founding of the Porcelain and Works of Art Department in the fall of 1994, business has developed at a phenomenal speed, and China Guardian has happily adapted to this growth, without sacrificing our high standards of quality. Pieces such as a Xuande Blue and White Foliate Wash Basin , that sold for 6.71 million RMB, and a Yongzheng Blue and White Underglaze Red Qiuping, which sold for 4.4 million RMB, are just some of the notable examples of our successes. In 2002, a Pair of Early Qing Carved Huanghuali Cabinets sold for 9.43 million RMB, a world auction record for furniture, which focused an international eye on the Chinese works of art market. In 2003, all 143 items in the Special Auction of Lisong House Collections-Wang Shixian and Yuan Quanyou's Collection of Chinese Works of Art sold, including a Tang dynasty Qin, together setting a world auction record.

In 2004 the first Buddhist Arts Sale was held, taking in 12.88 million RMB, and earning Guardian enthusiastic approval by important figures within the industry. In the same year a Qianlong Silk Handscroll, unusual for its combination of painting, calligraphy and embroidery, and for its imperial provenance, sold for 35.75 million RMB, setting a world record for textiles. The 2005 sale, The Geng Zhi Tang Collection of Exquisite Chinese Embroidered Articles was the first ever stand-alone auction of textiles, and sold at 44.23 million RMB, at a 90% sales rate.
